There's a metal beam in my basement about 8 feet from the steps, and one time going downstairs I slipped and landed about 2 feet from it. If I'd been running down the stairs instead of slogging with a laundry basket, I could have hit my head. My parents and my best friend have spare keys to my house, but how many unreturned calls would it take for them to think something was wrong? Yeeks. I’ve lived alone for 5 years now and had those thoughts a lot.
